Description
Aribert Reimann, who will celebrate his 70th birthday in 2006, became famous with his opera "Lear", based on Shakespeare's play. His new Lorca opera, "Bernada Albas Haus" is both a psychological case study and a dramaturgic compositional study: there are only female voices in different tessituras, instrumentally contrasted with soloistic wind instruments, twelve cellos within the string section and - instead of percussion - four grand pianos, partly prepared.
