To celebrate the 80th birthday of this respected Czech-American composer, Schott is publishing this study score of one of his many orchestral works. Husa, born in Prag, won a scholarship to study with Arthur Honegger and Nadia Boulanger at the Paris Conservatoire and later became professor for composition and conducting at Cornell University, New York. ‘Mosaïques’ originated during a period when Husa’s music was influenced by the Neoclassicism of Honegger and Stravinsky but also contained folkloristic elements as found in the works of Janác
