Description
While thinking about the commission from Richard Hunt to write a work for Flute and Double Bass, I happened to notice in my living room a model of Richard's sculpture titled Bridging and Branching. The work stimulated a process that defined the composition. The piece is based on cells which exist in varying environments that change throughout the work. Its title also implies ways of linkage between the two instruments and the music is influenced by contemporary trends, jazz, Baroque, and Renaissance music.
