Description

„A bandsman joins a cheerful society and plays music he heard in neighbouring areas: a series of serious and humorous songs, with a dancing tune at the end. According to his skills he adds musical ideas and decorations to the tunes and lets his imagination flow.“ This medieval picture was the basis for Hindemith‘s composition. The piece is known by violists all over the world.
