Description

The old eagle is sad because humans have killed his partner. He pours out his troubles to the small mountain lake and both become friends. When humans in the form of a pair of bored lovers arrive on the scene at the idyllic mountain lake and have the idea of turning the unspoiled landscape into an adventure park, this triggers off the action: an inebriated family man kills the old eagle. The mountain lake, wishing to take revenge on the part of his former friend, bursts its banks and causes a massive flood – this is however in vain as the ’lake of catastrophe’ now becomes the new attraction. Die Geschichte von dem kleinen blauen Bergsee und dem alten Adler (The Tale of the Small Blue Mountain Lake and the old eagle) is a bitter depiction of human ignorance and greed for profit and a parable on the inability of human beings to treat nature in a responsible fashion.
