Description

The German Music Council has been publishing its EDITION ZEITGENÖSSISCHE MUSIK (Contemporary Music Edition) on the WERGO label since 1986. The portrait CDs in this series capture the work of young composers either born or living in Germany, often giving them their first opportunity to reach a broader public at home and abroad with recordings of their music. 

The COLLECTION 5 casts a retrospective glance at the last twelve albums released between 2005 and 2008. The introductory essay and the selected recordings on the two CDs shed light on larger trends in present-day composition, while the accompanying alphabetic catalogue provides information on all the portrait CDs in our series EDITION ZEITGENÖSSISCHE MUSIK.
