Description
The composer Friedrich K. Wanek, in his capacity as an editor for contemporary music, led what he called an “orderly double life”. In the job which he earned his living from he was responsible for the works of other composers; he only found time for his own composing in what would have been his leisure hours. As a result, the body of his works is small and has very seldom come to the attention of a broad public. On the other hand he was able to sustain his independence and choose for himself his own compositional direction. This consists of an unbroken connection to the modern classical tradition.
