Description:

As usual, the young composer Benjamin Schweitzer dares player and listener to let themselves in for unusual sounds and complicated rhythms. Ambitious performers can try out modern playing techniques in this interesting piece.
'entschlackt [Piece in Two Parts]' is an attempt to write clear and concentrated music without getting 'simple' on the surface. The 'purified' finds expression both in form and sound. The dramatic tension develops from the succession but sometimes also from the overlapping of short sections in every possible combination of the instruments and from the asymmetry of the two movements. The first one, in a gently flowing tempo, is of a cautious nature almost throughout. This 'preparation' is followed by a surprisingly short second part in a speedy tempo.
