The Angelus Bells are Tolling was composed in 1986 to mark the removal of the ashes of the Polish writer Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer from Warsaw to the old Peksowy Brzyzek cemetery in Zakopane, although in the event the performance did not take place.
