Zurich Festival Prize for Heinz Holliger

The inaugural Zurich Festival Prize will be awarded during the 2007 Zurich Festival, and is presented for outstanding artistic achievement for the festival. The Zurich Festival Prize is made possible by the Bär-Kaelin Foundation, which is committed to the promotion of art and culture. The first prize-winner is the world-renowned Swiss oboist, composer and conductor Heinz Holliger. He will receive the award at the Tonhalle Zurich as part of a special concert on 10 July 2007 which he will conduct.
