Work of the Week - Kenneth Hesketh: Ein Lichtspiel

To mark their 10th anniversary, Ensemble 10/10, the new music ensemble of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra have commissioned ten composers to write ten works, each 10 minutes long.  Hesketh work, Ein Lichtspiel, will be performed to artist and early silent film maker Laszlo Moholy-Nagy's film Lichtpsiel - Schwarz, Weiss, Grau on 16 February at Hope University, Liverpool.  This atmostpheric film is an abstract game of light and shadow from slowly revolving prisms, mirrors and screens.  Hesketh becomes Composer in the House with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2007.
