World première: Hamlet-Echos by Christian Jost

A CD project with the mezzo-soprano Stella Doufexis, viola player Pauline Sachse and pianist Daniel Heide provided the opportunity for Christian Jost to return to his opera Hamlet which had been premiered in 2009. The resulting work Hamlet- Echos blends and fuses speeches by the two characters Ophelia and Gertrude and also Hamlet, sung in the opera by a mezzo-soprano. The vocal line and tonal shading of the instruments are interwoven into a sensitive transparent structure verging towards the apparitional decomposition of the musical structure.
