Dutilleux awarded the Marie-Josée Kravis Prize by the New York Philharmonic

French composer Henri Dutilleux has been announced as the winner of the inaugural 'Marie-Josée Kravis Prize for New Music at the New York Philharmonic'.

On Wednesday December 7th 2011 he was awarded the prestigious prize for "extraordinary artistic endeavour in the field of new music". A gala concert in recognition of Dutilleux’s outstanding career will be presented by the New York Philharmonic in June 2012.

In addition to Dutilleux's award, the jury chose Peter Eötvös to receive a new commission from New York Philharmonic. The work will be dedicated to Dutilleux.
