This charming little piece for viola solo was written as a present for a young pupil.
Penderecki knows how to challenge a student without expecting too much of them as this energetic piece demonstrates. (It is suggestive of something between an arabesque, character piece, etude and includes a hint of Bach and Shostakovich)
Also available for violin solo.
