On 19 January, the opening night of a new production of Viktor Ullmann's Der Sturz des Antichrist after Albert Steffen takes place at the Hof Theatre, Germany. After the premiere in Bielefeld in 1995, this is only the second staging of Ullmann's "dramatic sketch", which is one of a number of works he never heard following his murder in Auschwitz in 1944. From their first reception in the 1990s, many of Ullmann's works including Der Kaiser von Atlantis and Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke have found a place on the world stage. In May 2008 Der Sturz des Antichrist will be performed in Cincinatti, OH, and will for the first time offer audiences outside of Germany the chance to hear the work.
