John Casken Awarded Honary Degree

The Universiy of Birmingham have invited Schott composer John Casken to accept an honary degree of Doctor of Music this July in recognition of his long and esteemed connection with the university.  Casken completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Birmingham, became a lecturere in the 1970s and has since continue his association with the univiersity in various capicities.

Casken has also been invided to accept a honary degree of Doctor of Civil Law by King's College, Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada.  This will be awarded by the university at the Catherdral of All Saints in Halifax, NS on 19th May this year.
