Highlights from the radio concert series “musikFabrik im WDR”
WERGO and the musikFabrik announce the release of highlights from its “musikFabrik im WDR” radio concert series. This edition of thematically arranged programs will provide an exciting foray into recent music history and comprises seven CDs. Premieres of works by Mark Andre, Jonathan Harvey or Rebecca Saunders are juxtaposed with “classics” by Mauricio Kagel, Iannis Xenakis and Bernd Alois Zimmermann.
Live recordings from the WDR Broadcasting House in Cologne between 2003 and 2007, with outstanding conductors such as Stefan Asbury, Peter Rundel, Reinbert de Leeuw and James Wood, attest to musikFabrik’s status as first-class interpreters of contemporary music. Alongside guests like Christian Brückner, Salome Kammer and Anu and Piia Komsi, ensemble members such as Marco Blaauw, Juditha Haeberlin or Carl Rosman accentuate musikFabrik’s soloistic qualities.
WERGO and the musikFabrik will continue to cooperate. Further project are scheduled for 2011.

The focus with "Coronation" is not on blue blood or kingly power. In processes that are positively vegetal, the music on this CD sends up its shoots and produces blossoms like crowns.
