Hesketh RLPO's Composer in the House
Kenneth Hesketh has been announced as Composer in the House with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The role places him at the heart of musical life in his home town and will see him working with all the performing groups that fall under the orchestra's umbrella including Ensemble 10:10, the Merseyside Youth Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir. As well as writing new works, he will be involved in programming and education projects.
The appointment spans two seasons starting in September 2007 during which time Liverpool will be in the spotlight as the 2008 European Capital of Culture. The initiative is supported by the Royal Philharmonic Society and the PRS Foundation.
