Munich Film Festival Honors Howard Shore
Howard Shore will be honored with the Munich Film Festival’s first ever "Film Music Prize" on June 24. The award, to be presented at Munich's Circus Krone, includes a cash prize of 10,000€ donated by Bavarian Broadcasting and Telepool and the ceremony features a performance of Shore's The Aviator Suite, The Fly Suite, and Symphonic Suite for the Fellowship of the Ring conducted by Ulf Schirmer.
The Film Music Prize represents the most recent in an extensive list of awards the composer has earned throughout his illustrious career that includes three Academy Awards, four Grammies, and three Golden Globes, receiving recognition in both the Best Score and Best Original Song categories.
