Hans Werner Henze

On the 16th January 2010 The Barbican Centre, London and the BBC will be celebrating the life and music of Hans Werner Henze with a day long event, Total Immersion: Hans Werner Henze.  Films, talks and concerts featuring the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Oliver Knussen and Ensemble Modern conducted by Michael Boder will be part of the celebration.

In conjunction with the mini-festival, the Guardian’s Tom Service interviewed Henze at his home in Marino, Italy to discuss the composer’s music giving a wonderful insight into the life of the great composer.  The complete article is available from the Guardian website.
