Audiences can expect the unexpected when Richard Ayres No. 37b is premiered at the Donaueschingen
Festival by the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg under conductor Lothar Zagrosek. Renowned for his quirky, extreme but often humorous music, this is the first time an orchestral work will be heard in Germany. MusikFabrik have championed his chamber music, and there are plans underway to bring his chamber opera, The Cricket Recovers, to Germany in 2008. It was premiered by Aldeburgh Almeida Opera last year to great critical acclaim. |
