Christian Jost – Composer Portait in Cardiff

In a new series of composer portrait concerts at the recently opened BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales will focus on the music of Christian Jost. On 25 November at 7pm, four of his works will receive their UK première under the direction of Jac van Steen.

Members of the orchestra will perform Adagio12, which was originally composed for the twelve cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker, in the version for string orchestra alongside Jost’s trio for clarinet, violin and piano eingefroren - in der Erinnerung.
The entire BBC National Orchestra of Wales then perform the clarinet concerto Heart of Darkness – Odyssey for Clarinet and Orchestra and Jost’s newest orchestral work CodeNine, which is inspired by themes and phrases from each of the nine symphonies of Beethoven, Bruckner and Mahler, as Schubert’s ‘Unfinished’.
