Vocal Jazz Summit 2009 - From September 30 until October 3

The vocal jazz scene in Germany is booming, but the big names have always originated from the USA and a few other European countries. The Vocal Jazz Summit unites the scene in a unique gathering with international mega-stars.

Excellent Vocal Jazz Summit concerts and numerous workshops with the stars make Mainz for five days the hub of the vocal jazz scene:

Visit outstanding concerts with The Real Group (Sweden), The Swingle Singers (Great Britain), The Manhattan Transfer (USA), Pust (Norway) and Touché (Denmark).

Various workshops led by renowned lecturers have been scheduled throughout the Vocal Jazz Summit. Vocalists from The Manhattan Transfer, The Swingle Singers, The Real Group and Jesper Holm (Touché) as well as the author of the warm-up and performance studies „Loop Songs“, Bertand Gröger (Jazzchor Freiburg) will head the coachings.

In cooperation with the Hochschule Mainz, the Masterclass Beatbox & Beyond will be held from September 28 to 30. Lecturers will be the bass singers Tobias Hug und Kevin Fox (The Swingle Singers) as well as the beatbox finalist in the world championship Roxorloops.

The Vocal Jazz Summit 2009 is organised by "Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz, eine Initative des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz".
