Christmas Concert

Harald Genzmer is without a doubt considered one of the most important composers from the Hindemith school. Harald Genzmer first came before the public as an organ composer of note in 1945 with his first orgen work Tripartita.

From 1969 to 1980 Genzmer wrote four organ works that are oriented thematically around the four majoir celebrations of the liturgical year: the Advent Concerto, the Christmas Concerto, the Easter Concerto, and the Pentecost Concerto. Of these, the Christmas Concerto, written in 1974, is one of the most exquisite and at the same time most demanding of Genzmer's organ works.
