Event: Mischa Scorer presents his films on Tippett
Time & venue: 2.30pm at the Holst Room, Morley College.
Films will be followed by a rare opportunity to see Scorer in a Q & A discussion led by Morley's current Director of Music Robert Hanson.

About the Films
Poets in a Barren Age (BBC, 1971) deals with the function of the artist in society.
Songs of Experience: Tippett at 85 is a biography made to coincide with Tippett's 85th birthday, during which the composer reflects on his formative experiences and how he composes music.
About Mischa Scorer
Mischa Scorer is famous for his documentary films on Tippett. He recently directed Degas and the Dance (2003), a fascinating look at French Impressionist painter Edgar Degas and his lifelong passion for dance.

Event: Morley Chamber Orchestra presents Tippett
Composers: Music by Tippett (Fantasia on a Theme of Handel), Purcell (excerpts from The Fairy Queen), Arden (Ritually Bathed), Hanson (Ring his Knell), Beethoven's Symphony 7, and the first performance of Katz (A Little Centenary Music).

Celebrating the centenary of his birth, the Royal College of Music, London salutes its former student with a landmark retrospective of his life and music. In Aquarius unites world class performers with today’s greatest young talent, following in Tippett’s footsteps. Every event in the three-month festival is free, allowing audiences new and old to explore a range of Tippett’s undisputed masterworks and lesser-known treasures. Guest artists include Robert Tear, Roger Vignoles, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Steve Martland, Stephen Varcoe, the Belcea Quartet, the Chilingirian Quartet, pianist Stephen Savage and filmmaker Mischa Scorer.
