Tippett at the Proms
The Proms host Michael Tippett Centenary tribute
The 111th season of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts hosted by the BBC and taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, London, will highlight the work of Sir Michael Tippett under the 2005 Season Theme of Anniversaries. The series of concerts will open on the 15th July with a performance of Tippett’s well known oratorio A Child of Our Time.

The Prom’s concerts encompass a wide range of Tippett’s works, from early (A Child of Our Time) to late (Symphony No. 4) giving audiences a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the composer and his musical style.
