This summer, Toshio Hosokawa will be featured at two important festivals, the Pacific Music Festival (PMF) in Japan and the Rheingau Musik Festival in Germany. Of particular note is the second performance of his latest orchestral work, Cloud and Light for shô and orchestra which will be performed on 12 July following it’s world première in Saarbrücken on June 1. Over in Germany, the Rheingau Musik Festival sees two portrait concerts dedicated to Hosokawa’s music, including his masterpiece Voiceless Voice in Hiroshima conducted by Rupert Huber.
