Werk der Woche - Steve Martland: Kapital

For the inaugural Manchester International Festival, Festival Director Alex Poots has commissioned Steve Martland to write the score for a new film by young British director Greg Hall. The Manchester International Festival runs from 28 June – 15 July 2007 and is unique in being the world’s first festival consisting of entirely new work. The result of Martland and Hall’s collaboration is Kapital, a gothic and uncompromising look at the darker side of society and human nature. Glimpses of the life of the untold and ignored drive the film and the city of Manchester becomes the stage on which these stories are told. Kapital will receive its world premiere on 4 July.
